salmo ag berso - gala opening

2 july 2011, marked the date of the opening of nunilon bancaso, jr. OsacnaB’s exhibit entitled: salmo ag berso. the fourth art event held at cafe des artes, since its inception in august last year, this is the first solo exhibit of an artist, a native of baao.

i have had the chance to organize art events in the past, also held here at my gallery, the cafe des artes, but by far, this one gives me the greatest pride.

the event started at 6pm, with almost all the invited guests present. the artist’s parents, lydia and nunilon bancaso, sr.,graciously accepted the honour of cutting the ceremonial ribbon. right after the ribbon-cutting, the amiable emcee, sarah balares, started the short program by calling fr. eric bobis to give the opening prayer. i, 'the lady of the house’, was then called next, to give a welcome note and somehow, i mustered enough confidence to take the center stage and deliver. (just couldn’t recall now if i delivered right. bwahahaha. a jittery moi.)

literary master kristian cordero read his titillating poems and caused the audience to indulge in what most would consider pleasurable treats to the minds and hearts.

frank penones, an award-winning literary genius, participated by reciting a poem he has written somewhere in the 70s, wow, he certainly has good memory. bwahahaha!

OsacnaB then took his turn and gave his discourse on art. everybody was all ears, you can definitely hear a pin drop.

he captured his audience not just by his perfect delivery of the piece, but by the thoughts and ideas he imparted through the speech, with stresses on all the right places. bravo!

viewing of the artworks followed right after and the guests had the chance to mingle with local art aficionados and visitors alike.

while the violinist played sweet music and snacks were being served, OsacnaB mingled and got the chance to talk more about his artworks on a more personal manner, with the guests.

one wonderful event! one great night! one brilliant artist! bravo!
