cafe des artes - a venue for art education

opened as a cafe gallery in 2010, cafe des artes @ villa esperanza, san nicolas, baao, camarines sur, has been venue to several visual arts exhibits, the latest of which is the 'imago' that features artists/priests from the archdiocese of caceres.
the gallery is primarily established to serve as a venue for artists to display their works, and at the same time, provide teachers and students a venue for free art appreciation lessons.

in this current exhibit, art coordinators of the rinconada area, headed by Jovencio Alvina, had a tour of the gallery and made plans to bring their students soon.

the burikbutikan group soon will design a project that will make available a programme that wraps around academic curriculum, to expose students to the world of art and promote visual literacy.

exhibits at the cafe des artes encourage and uphold critical thinking by having students understand the rationale behind the artworks in their various cultural, political and historical contexts.

imago runs till 31 jan 2012.  seya'll!
